As the Cousins saga in Atlanta continues with little to no traction of a trade, the one team that is still in the running seems to be focused somewhere else. Rodgers had a hard season after a torn Achilles just like Cousins but has a higher chance due to not being in a contract.
Cousins has been linked to the Steelers for months, but the rumors keep dying down the more that Rodgers gets brought up and the more that the rumor keeps swirling.

Cousins is still sitting on his massive contract that the Falcons are trying desperately hard to trade away but have yet to find a true suitor as most teams have built up impressive quarterback rooms. The Browns and Titans recently drafted quarterbacks in high rounds and seem to be out of the race for Cousins.

On the other hand, the Steelers quarterback room still needs some focus and if the Rodgers deal ends up falling through then we could see Cousins in Pittsburgh real soon. All of this depends on the decision that Rodgers makes and how much money they will pay him.
NFL Insider Albert Breer came out and talked about how not only Cousins is affected by this decision but so can a quarterback like Derek Carr who’s facing uncertainty in New Orleans and with his injury.
Art Rooney has also stated that he is confident that Rodgers will sign with the Steelers, and if he does the Falcons will need to move fast on what to do with Cousins.
