The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books. The Detroit Lions selected seven players to make up their newest draft class with a focus on bolstering the trenches.
Between the draft and free agency, there are a lot of new players to keep an eye on as the Lions continue to work their way through the offseason training program.
Which new Lion are you most excited to see hit the field in 2025? I asked the Detroitlions.com crew, and here’s what they had to say:
Tim Twentyman: Defensive lineman Tyleik Williams
The reaction in the draft room by the Lions brass when they were able to select Tyleik Williams at No. 28 tells me he was the player they targeted and really wanted. His quickness for a player with his size and strength traits is really intriguing. I think there’s more there as an interior pass rusher than he was asked to do at Ohio State.
My guess is he carves out an early role and it will really be exciting to watch him once Alim McNeill returns from a torn ACL suffered in December and those two can play off each other with their size/strength/quickness combination along the interior of Detroit’s defensive line.
