With all of the injuries at WR for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they’ve turned to the UFL. WR Jacob Harris, who spent this past UFL season with the San Antonio Brahmas, has signed with the team.

With injuries at receiver, Bucs are signing former UCF and Rams receiver Jacob Harris. He’s 28, good size at 6-5, 211, local from Palm Harbor. Had one catch with Rams, was a fourth-round pick in 2021, last played in UFL.

Jacob Harris was an offseason addition to the Brahmas roster. He immediately made an impact, with his big frame and route running abilities turning him into a go to target for QB Kellen Mond early on.

Jacob finished the UFL season with 18 receptions for 294 yards. One of Harris’ struggles: drops. He was targeted 38 times, with just 18 catches – and eight drops on the year. Without those mishaps, Jacob’s statline would have been even stronger.

Harris saw the majority of his college football action at UCF. He posted 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns at the school, playing wide receiver but having the frame of a tight end.

Jacob was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. They were looking to utilize his unique combination of size and speed as a tight end, but it didn’t exactly pan out. Harris tore his ACL and MCL in his rookie year, missing out on a Super Bowl run by Los Angeles.

He ended up making the move to wide receiver the next season, but remained primarily on the practice squad. Since then, Harris has had stints with the Jaguars and Eagles, struggling to maintain a roster spot in either spot.

Now, he lands in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers to get his NFL career back on track. It’s a Brahmas takeover in Tampa – as San Antonio’s IHC, Payton Pardee, is an assistant special teams coach with the Bucs this preseason. It wouldn’t be surprising if he had a role in bringing Harris in.

It’s been a busy week for Brahmas headed to the NFL. EDGE Garrett Nelson signed with the Broncos, while safety Henry Black was picked up by the Falcons.

Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would have been made possible. You can stay up to date on all UFL to NFL signings with our official tracker.
