The Tennessee Titans wrapped up their eighth practice on Saturday, and afterwards, defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson met with the media.
Wilson’s unit has been on fire and at times dominant during the early stages of camp, and appears to be grasping the new concepts being implemented in 2025. With the new faces fitting in with the returning veterans, there is an excitement building around the unit.

While today was not their best, the starting unit was practicing without two projected starters, with T’Vondre Sweat sidelined with an abdominal issue and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed still on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Wilson discussed Sneed and a few other topics during the availability.
After a disappointing first season in Nashville, Sneed’s return would be a welcome sight and a huge boost for a young cornerback room that could use another established presence on the backend. Hopefully, he receives clearance to return soon, but the days are passing by, and he will have to get into football shape before taking over as a starter.
When asked about Cam Ward and what his unit is trying to accomplish, he had nothing but praise, stating they are throwing everything at the young quarterback and he is responding well to the concepts being thrown at him, which includes a new pass rush style that is starting to become more coordinated with every rep.
The Titans’ defense has a chance to be better in 2025 than it was last season, when it was one of the most competitive groups in the league. With this solid start to training camp, it will be fun to watch how they look when they can face off against a real opponent.
