Day 7 training camp observations
The injuries continue to mount up, as wide receiver Joshua Palmer was hurt during Thursday’s session while the team said safety Cole Bishop is dealing with a quad injury. In on-field developments, wide receiver Keon Coleman continued his breakthrough camp, fellow wideout Kristian Wilkerson is making the most of his reps, rookie defensive end Landon Jackson flashed his immense potential, and defensive tackle Ed Oliver was able to successfully get after the quarterback during practice.
CB Maxwell Hairston suffers LCL sprain
Bills fans everywhere were worried when they learned that first-round rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston left Tuesday’s training camp with a knee injury. While it’s never good for anyone to be injured in the preseason, especially a rookie who is trying to get used to life in the NFL, the Bills received good news when Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network described Hairston’s injury as an LCL sprain, and Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz said Hairston is “week-to-week” with the ailment.
In Hairston’s absence, fellow rookie Dorian Strong seems to be capitalizing on his opportunity to showcase his skills in the secondary, and Buffalo’s cornerback depth will be tested with Hairston sidelined.
