The Houston Texans are less than 40 days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Los Angeles against the Rams at SoFi Stadium and we’re counting down the days until a victory ensues on the West Coast.

Texans Wire will daily inform you which player has worn the number of the day leading up to kickoff and select the player who best represented the number during their time at NRG Stadium. As for today, let’s take a look at who has worn No. 37 since the inaugural season in 2002.

Texans players to wear No. 37

No. 37 currently belongs to veteran cornerback D’Angelo Ross. While he’s not viewed as a starter or even a second-team option in coverage, Ross has been a promising option on special teams since joining the Texans in 2022. He’ll need an impressive training camp to promise a roster spot, but there’s enough to like about his potential as a No. 3 cornerback entering Week 1.

DB D’Angelo Ross (2022-Present)

DB Tavirerre Thomas (2021)

RB Domanick (Davis) Williams (2003-2006)

Best Player: Domanick Williams

The first “real” running back in Texans’ history, Williams (who was known as Davis until 2006) only spent three seasons in Houston, but they were productive both in terms of on the field and in setting the standard of the position long-term. Drafted out of LSU in 2003, the former All-SEC runner posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2003 and 2004 before suffering a knee injury after 11 games in 2005 that sidelined him until Houston released him in 2006.

Over three seasons, Williams averaged 4.2 yards per carry and scored a franchise-leading 13 touchdowns in 2004 until Arian Foster, who moved off the No. 37 after his rookie season, in 2010.
