The Trump administration has decided to bring back the Presidential Fitness Test. Although this test has been around for decades, it was altered by the Obama administration in 2012. That’s because the 44th president of the United States wanted to “move away from recognizing athletic performance to providing a barometer on student’s health.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump restored the traditional Presidential Fitness Test because he “wants to ensure America’s future generations are strong, healthy, and successful.” As part of this move, Trump is revitalizing the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. It appears Butker will be on that council.
While we’re not sure what the future has in store for Butker, it’s very evident that Trump is a fan of his.

Trump took time out of his speech Thursday to compliment Butker’s appearance. And no, we’re not kidding.
“You’re a handsome guy, by the way. It’s usually not my thing, but he is a good looking sucker,” Trump said.
Unsurprisingly, that compliment from Trump went viral. That being said, it’s not the first time Butker has made headlines for non-football-related reasons.
In 2024, Butker received a lot of backlash for a speech he made at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony.

“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you,” Butker said. “Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world. I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
Butker refused to back down from his initial stance, telling reporters that his message came from a place of love. That didn’t stop certain fans from criticizing him.
“If people knew me as a person and understood I was coming from a place of love and not a place of trying to attack or put people down. I only want the best for people. That’s what I was trying to say there. I think the people that were there in that gymnasium understood what I was saying.”

Will Butker receive criticism for his recent meeting with Trump? Probably, but the Chiefs don’t seem too concerned about it.
