The Atlanta Falcons have gone through their last two practices without first-round pick Jalon Walker. The rookie seemingly vanished without any real update on his status.

With fans starting to panic, head coach Raheem Morris provided an update prior to Thursday’s practice. According to Morris, Walker is dealing with a minor hamstring injury and won’t be out long.

“The kid wants to go out there and I won’t let him,” Morris told reporters. “He is wearing me out trying to get out there at practice.”

Walker, the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, is expected to help reinforce the Falcons’ underwhelming pass rush. The team’s other first-round pick, James Pearce Jr., has shined while Walker has been out.

Pearce has been disruptive as a pass rusher, even causing a few minor fights to break out between the offensive and defensive lines.

Regardless of how well Pearce is playing, the team needs to get Walker back as soon as possible so he doesn’t fall behind. The rookie is going through individual drills but Morris said he would remain out for team drills.

After getting Wednesday off, the Falcons are back at practice today and tomorrow.
