During Saturday’s training camp press conference, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice provided an optimistic update on his knee injury after missing most of last season.
“I feel better than I felt last year,” said Rice. “I was able to work on things that I didn’t know. I had to focus on my right knee; shout out to Dr. Cooper, who did a great job on my knee. So I just got to focus on small things, which helped me improve my game on the field.”

Rice has been out of game action since tearing his LCL early in the 2024 season. He had led the Chiefs and was amongst the league leaders in receiving last season before his Week 4 injury against the Los Angeles Chargers.
“I was just waiting for the doctors to let me know what’s going on. A lot of people thought it was ACL. It ended up being LCL and a couple of partial tears,” said Rice, “So something that could have been a lot bigger ended up not being as big, and I took advantage of that.”
The former SMU standout has 103 receptions for 1,226 yards and nine touchdowns in 20 regular-season games. He holds the NFL record for most playoff receptions by a rookie with 26 in 2023.
