Everybody’s workin’ for the weekend! Well, at least the Miami Dolphins are, suiting up for training camp in sunny Miami Gardens, Florida on Saturday morning.

As has been customary during Mike McDaniel’s tenure as the team’s head coach, each practice session features one player wearing a brightly colored orange jersey — a jersey given to the previous practice session’s best performing player.

Today, that honorable designation goes to EDGE rusher Jaelan Phillips!

Phillips earns his second orange jersey of award of the offseason as he also received the honor during the team’s first organized team activity session — sharing the honors that day with cornerback Ethan Bonner.

Phillips has seen his career start to sputter after dealing with multiple injuries that ended each of his last two seasons prematurely. In 2023, Phillips tore his Achilles tendon in a Week 12 contest against the New York Jets. After an arduous rehab process, Phillips returned in 2024 only to tear his ACL in a Week 4 game against the Tennessee Titans.

If Phillips can stay healthy in 2025, he’ll look to earn a big payday in the offseason as this year is his last on his rookie contract. The 26-year-old has 23 career sacks in 46 games, but can add to that number in a big way if Miami’s pass rushing unit of Phillips, Bradley Chubb and Chop Robinson live up to the offseason hype surrounding the potentially fearsome trio.

We will be tracking which players receive the orange jersey honor as the offseason progresses. Want to help? Hit us up on Twitter/X at @thephinsider, or reach out to Marek Brave directly at @MBrave13, and let us know who is rocking the jersey with pride each day! Fins up!
