Former NFL star Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones ruthlessly clapped back at Jimmy Haslam after the Cleveland Browns owner claimed that it wasn’t his idea to draft Shedeur Sanders.
After suffering an unprecedented slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders was finally selected by the Browns in the fifth round with the No. 144 overall pick. According to Haslam, this decision was made entirely by general manager Andrew Berry.
“Listen. We have good process,” Haslam told reporters on Tuesday. “If you’d have told me Friday night [Day 2] driving home, y’all are going to pick Shedeur, I would have said, ‘That’s not happening.’
“But, we had a conversation early that morning and we had a conversation later that day. I think we had the right people involved in the conversation.

“At the end of the day, that’s Andrew Berry’s call. Andrew made the call to pick Shedeur.”
Haslam’s comments didn’t sit well with Jones, who questioned why the 71-year-old tried to distance himself from taking Sanders now that the rookie quarterback is on the team.
“It doesn’t make sense to keep talking about Shedeur,” Jones exclusively told Mirror U.S. Sports. “Oh, did we want him? Did we not want him? He’s there now. So why do you put a press conference up about whether you want him or not?
“I think this all is so f—– up because they don’t do that to no other quarterback. I have never seen an owner come in a f—— meeting and say, ‘Well, we didn’t even want him, but I don’t make those decisions.’ What type of s— is that?
“Now, you might say something about the first round pick, ‘Oh yeah, we wanted him.’ But I’ve never seen an owner come out and say, ‘Well, we weren’t even thinking about him.’”

According to Jones, Haslam’s attempt to lay blame elsewhere in the organization is a clear dig at Sanders.
“I just didn’t understand why in the f— would the owner come out and say that after he’s already there? It doesn’t make sense,” said Jones, who inked a multi-year renewal with BetOnline to continue producing his podcast ‘Politely Raw!’
“To me, it seemed like he [was] poking. Because if I’m the owner and he’s already here, why do I need to tell everybody that we weren’t even thinking about getting him?
“So what do you get out of saying that you didn’t want him? Unless you’re trying to just shame the kid or whatever you’re trying to do.”
Given Haslam’s apparent disinterest in Sanders, Jones suggested that the Colorado product seek a trade to another quarterback-needy team.
“I think everything in Cleveland, the whole organization is ran like s—, starting with the owner,” Jones said. “It’s f—– up, but it’s something that [Sanders] got to deal with.
“I hope he gets traded, though. There’s a lot of other teams that need quarterbacks. Saints are one, Jacksonville is one. There’s a couple teams, ‘cause he is the future.
“And is the kid good enough? Yes, he is good enough. We got a lot of bums in the league. I mean, like real bums that are playing.”
