SHEDEUR SANDERS has suffered a major setback in his battle for the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback spot.

The 23-year-old is involved in a four-way tussle to be first-choice with Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel.

But with just over a month to go until the Browns kick off their NFL season against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 7, Sanders has suffered an injury.

The problem has forced him to sit out practice sessions at the team’s training camp.

ESPN claim he has “shoulder soreness” and it is unclear how long he will be unavailable for.

Sanders was tipped by many before the Draft to be a top ten pick.

But in a shocking slide, he was eventually picked in the fifth round, 144th overall, by the Browns.

Pickett and Flacco are thought to be their top two quarterbacks.

And there has been rumors that one of the quartet could be traded.

However, that plan may have to be ditched as Pickett suffered a hamstring injury last weekend during practice.

He was forced to sit out three practices this week and returned to a limited session on Friday.

On Pickett’s injury, head coach Kevin Stefanski said: “He’s pushing himself to get back to full team periods as soon as possible.”
