JACKSONVILLE – This was a day for tradition and culture.
Tom Coughlin attended Sunday. And he was a welcome guest.
“What he says matters, and it works; it’s right,” Campanile said.
Campanile and other coaches also spoke with Coughlin after practice.
“I don’t think you’d have a better resource in professional football,” Campanile said after a practice in helmets and spider pads. “There’s a tremendous tradition here, a rich tradition, because of what he did.
“He set the precedent for what the culture should be and we want to have a culture very similar to that – about being tough, doing your job, being accountable, being a great teammate, caring about the people you coach, all that stuff. That’s what he’s about.
