A former Carolina Panthers receiver has been chosen.

On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers signed wideout Robbie Chosen. Formerly known as Robby (and Robbie) Anderson, Chosen previously spent two and a half years in Carolina.

That tenure began in 2020, when Chosen (Anderson, at the time) signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Panthers. He’d make an immediate impact in his first season—amassing 96 receptions and 1,096 receiving yards, both of which still stand as career-highs, along with three touchdowns.

His productive debut campaign earned him a two-year, $29.5 million extension in the summer of 2021. But the pact wouldn’t finish out in Carolina, as the Panthers traded Chosen in the middle of the 2022 season following a sideline spat with then-wide receivers coach Joe Dailey.

Chosen, who has gone on to pick up stops with the Arizona Cardinals (2022) and Miami Dolphins (2023 and 2024), now returns to the 49ers after a two-week stint in San Francisco last summer.
