Each of our NFL Wire editors handed out grades for each of our respective teams’ 2025 draft classes. So what grade did I give the Jacksonville Jaguars, and why?
Well, I went with an A- for the Jaguars. For one, I loved the aggressive move to go and get the best player in this year’s draft class in Travis Hunter, someone who can help the Jaguars at two positions.

But beyond that, I loved James Gladstone’s approach of building around quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
The addition of Hunter provides the Jaguars with quite the one-two punch at the receiver position with Brian Thomas Jr. No longer can defenses focus solely on taking Thomas away, which can create more opportunities for him and others within the offense as well.
Gladstone also bolstered the running back position. Bhayshul Tuten was the fastest running back in this year’s class, while LeQuint Allen brings a pass-catching element to the position. Whether it was on the ground or in the passing game, if we look at the 2024 Tampa Bay offense under Liam Coen, the running backs played a pivotal role in that unit’s overall success.
Lastly, even after making four outside additions to the offensive line in free agency, Gladstone added two more players to that mix in this year’s draft. Consistent success for any offense starts up front with having a run game to lean on and time in the pocket for the quarterback. When it comes to the Jaguars’ new-look offensive line unit, there is a lot more versatility and there’s going to be a lot more competition.

Ultimately, how good this Jaguars team is will be determined by Lawrence’s level of play. So prioritizing building around him was always going to be the prudent move, and that’s what Gladstone did.
