Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry might just be the most one-of-a-kind duo at quarterback and running back in the entire NFL.

Running back Salvon Ahmed went down in practice with a serious leg injury after taking a hit from an illegal “hip-drop tackle.” It’s a tough blow for both Ahmed and a Colts offense that can’t afford more setbacks in a crucial year.
Daniel Jones was once viewed as the future under center for the New York Giants, taken with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft. But things didn’t pan out as planned. After a string of underwhelming performances, he was benched and eventually cut last season, wrapping up the year with the Minnesota Vikings. This past March, he landed with the Indianapolis Colts, brought in to push Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick from the 2023 draft.
As for Richardson, his NFL journey has been rocky so far. The 23-year-old quarterback has suited up for only 15 games over two seasons, with injuries—most notably to his throwing shoulder—limiting his availability. Though he missed offseason reps due to recovery, Richardson showed up to training camp fully healthy and eager to prove himself. While he possesses jaw-dropping athletic tools, consistency and durability have been concerns. To date, he’s thrown 11 touchdowns against 13 interceptions, while showcasing his mobility with 10 rushing scores.
As per reports, the Colts are plotting to start one quarterback against the Ravens and the other against the Packers to start the preseason.
