The NFL regular season is creeping closer and fans of the New England Patriots who want to see them in person might want to consider watching them play somewhere other than Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

Fans looking to attend Patriots road games in person have plenty of options and can shop around at StubHub, Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and *VividSeats.

*New customers who purchase tickets through VividSeats can get $20 off a $200+ ticket order by using the promo code MassLive20 at checkout.*

If you need to travel outside your local area to get to these games, head over to TripAdvisor, VRBO, Marriott or Booking.com for deals on everything from car rentals to airfare to hotels.

There are eight road games on New England’s schedule this season with the first one coming in Week 2 when they face the division rival Miami Dolphins, and they play their last regular season road game in Week 17 against another division rival, the New York Jets.

For the fans in New England, the Patriots playing away from home might be the perfect reason to take a weekend trip to see them in action. For the fans out of New England, road games might be your best chance to see Drake Maye and the Patriots in-person.

All of the road matchups are listed below in descending order based on what games and road trips would be the most worthwhile for folks wanting to leave the northeast to see the squad. Whether it’s because the Patriots don’t play there often, there is a good chance to see a win, or the tickets are a great price, there’s a logic to deciding which games make the most sense to travel to.

Why to travel to this game?

The Patriots have not been in New Orleans for a regular season game since September 2017. There is a reason this city was picked to host last season’s Super Bowl, and the weather in October should be decent while the food and entertainment are always top notch year round. And on top of the city being a great destination, this is a great matchup for the Patriots, as the Saints are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. What’s would be better than walking down Bourbon Street after seeing a Patriots win?

Opponent: Buffalo Bills

Time: 8:20 p.m. EDT

Where: Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.

Why to travel to this game?

How many times will you get to see the Patriots play a former MVP this season? Well, four. But two of those are against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, and the Week 5 contest at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. is the only Sunday Night game on New England’s schedule. And if you really want to see this division matchup, just remember that the meeting at Gillette Stadium is in Week 15.

Opponent: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

Florida in November. Need I say more? Well, in case you need to hear more, consider that this game could easily serve as a litmus test for exactly who this Patriots team is in the middle of the season. Seeing just how well new coach Mike Vrabel has his team prepared to face a reigning division champion in the Buccaneers on the road could tell you everything you need to know about what to expect in the second half.

Opponent: New York Jets

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Ticket Options:

Why to travel to this game?

If you want to consider traveling around Christmas time, New York is certainly a solid location if you enjoy the cold. And, there’s a good chance this is another win waiting to happen on New England’s schedule. Now, the Jets do technically play in New Jersey, but if you have some time off for the holidays, a short trip south to New York isn’t too bad an option.

Opponent: Baltimore Ravens

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore

Ticket Options:

Why to travel to this game?

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is one of those other former MVPs the Patriots face this season, and getting a chance to see him live will likely be worth the price of admission. This is one of the cheapest tickets on the schedule as of August. Baltimore isn’t guaranteed to have much better weather than Massachusetts in December, but there’s a chance it is at least a little warmer. This is gonna be a tough game for New England to win, but if they do pull off the upset, you’ll be glad you were there.

Opponent: Cincinnati Bengals

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati

Ticket Options:

Why to travel to this game?

The Patriots were in Cincinnati last season to open the year and walked away with a surprising 16-10 victory. Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are sure to be looking to show their offense is more potent than 10 points in a game and are known to play better later in the season than at the start. There is still a solid chance you will be flying out to see an upset win with how the Bengals defense is projected to perform, but there’s an even better chance that this is the best offense New England faces all season and you’ll get to see some fireworks going off no matter who has the ball.

Opponent: Tennessee Titans

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn.

Ticket Options:

Why to travel to this game?

Vrabel returns to his old stomping grounds looking for revenge against the team that fired him and their new No. 1 overall pick rookie QB, Cam Ward. This game might have an argument to be higher on the list, especially considering the chances the Patriots win this contest. However, the Patriots faced the Titans in Nashville last season and lost, 20-17. So there will be a lot of revenge in the Nashville air in October, but it will also be the third straight road game for New England. This game could be one of the biggest highs of the season or one of the lowest lows, and considering the other quarterbacks they face and the cities they travel to that they haven’t played in as recently, this contest takes the seventh spot on the list.

Opponent: Miami Dolphins

Time: 1 p.m. EDT

Where: Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Ticket Options:

Why to travel to this game?

If Florida in November is a great escape from the cold to some warm weather, Florida in September is a trip to a sauna when you could just enjoy the weather outside. The Patriots make this trip every season to face the Dolphins, and when the game is happening in September, there is much less incentive for fans to travel. Now, there is great potential for a fun and competitive game between AFC East rivals, but you also might get a heatstroke depending on the humidity on the day. At the same time, it’s early season football. Your hopes for the prospects of this season will never be higher for a road game, especially if they win the opener.
