The San Francisco 49ers failed to make the playoffs last season, just one year removed from a Super Bowl appearance. A lot of the Niners’ struggles last year can be attributed to injuries to their star players.
Running back Christian McCaffrey was forced to miss most of the season due to injury. Now, it appears as if San Francisco is setting up to have another frustrating year on the injury front in its running back room.
“49ers RB Isaac Guerendo is expected to miss “a few weeks” with a shoulder injury, per Kyle Shanahan. DT Kevin Givens suffered a pec injury and will be out “a while”, per Shanahan,” reported ESPN’s senior NFL insider Adam Schefter on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“I think they really need to move Guerendo to WR and just give him very limited RB snaps, not that he’d get a ton if CMC is healthy,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“49ers really rocking two of the most injury prone RBs as their 1 and 2,” someone else added.
“I’m officially out on drafting any 49ers in fantasy this year. Even Kittle. It’s straight up an injury factory over there,” another person added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Niners can get healthy in time for the regular season.
