SLOGAN TO THE I WIN BECAUSE JACKSON STATE FOOTBALL DID PLENTY OF THAT LAST SEASON, BUT NOW IT’S TIME TO TURN THE PAGE IN. COLLEGE FOOTBALL BEGINS THIS MONTH. TODAY, HEAD COACH TK TAYLOR, SPEAKING TO MEDIA FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON AS THE TIGERS BEGAN WEEK TWO OF TRAINING CAMP. NOW, THERE ARE VERY HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR JSU AFTER WINNING THE SWAC AND CELEBRATION BOWL LAST YEAR, THEY WERE PICKED AS THE CONFERENCE’S PRESEASON NUMBER ONE SQUAD. BUT THIS ROSTER IS A BIT DIFFERENT FROM LAST YEAR FOR TK. THAT GIVES SOME FRESH FACES AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES. >> I THINK FOR US, WE’RE JUST TRYING TO GET THESE GUYS IN HERE AND THE MAIN THING IS JUST MISH, YOU KNOW, WE’VE GOT QUITE A FEW NEW FACES, A GOOD GROUP COMING BACK FROM LAST YEAR, BUT I THOUGHT THE FIRST WEEK WAS REALLY INTENSE. GUYS WAS FLYING AROUND AND YOU KNOW, AND THEY’RE DEVELOPING YOU KNOW WE TALKED ABOUT IT. THAT BROTHERHOOD THAT’S GOING TO BE NEEDED THIS SEASON. SO WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO NOT BEING ON THE ROAD THIS YEAR. YOU KNOW THE FIRST GAME. SO WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT IT. WE TALKED ABOUT IT IN THE TEAM MEETING THIS MORNING. YOU KNOW IT IS AUGUST.
