Travis Hunter is attempting to do the impossible: become an elite NFL player at two positions, cornerback and wide receiver.

The Jacksonville Jaguars released their first depth chart for the 2025 season, and Hunter is listed as a starting wide receiver and a second-string cornerback. If it was not clear already, this move confirms that the team will play their star at both positions this year.

Hunter is listed as one of the Jaguars’ three starting wide receivers alongside Brian Thomas Jr. and Dyami Brown. On defense, the former Colorado Buffaloes star is listed behind starter Tyson Campbell. He shares that spot on the depth chart with Jarrian Jones.

The Jaguars open preseason play on Saturday, which will give Colorado and Jacksonville fans the first opportunity to see how head coach Liam Coen plays Hunter in a game situation. Typically, starters do not play much during the preseason, but Hunter could be the exception as the Jaguars decide how to use their superstar.

Hunter and the Jaguars open the preseason at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, August 9.
