According to multiple reports, Texas football offensive lineman Andre Cojoe tore a ligament in his knee during practice and will miss the 2025 season.

On Texas Football first reported the news in a post on X, but the American-Statesman could not confirm the injury with the program as of Monday afternoon.

Losing Cojoe would be a big blow to an offensive line that must replace four starters from a year ago, when the Longhorns went 13-3 and reached a second consecutive College Football Playoff. The 6-foot-6, 335-pound redshirt sophomore from Mansfield Timberview High School in the Fort Worth suburbs had been competing with Brandon Baker for the starting position at right tackle, offensive line coach Kyle Flood told the media last week.

If Cojoe does miss the season, that likely ensures Baker as the starting right tackle while eliminating the Longhorns’ top option for a swing tackle off the bench.

Cojoe played in four games last season. If he misses significant time, the Texas offense will likely turn to redshirt sophomore Jaydon Chatman or true freshman Nick Brooks as the top backup tackle to Baker and starting left tackle Trevor Goosby.
