Do you remember the last time Washington won the Super Bowl? It was the 1991–1992 season when quarterback Mark Rypien led the team to victory over the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXVI, capping off one of the franchise’s most iconic eras.
More than 30 years later, Mark Rypien, Gary Clark, and Chip Lohmiller reunited over the weekend, aboard City Cruises DC, for an exclusive evening of gridiron nostalgia. On Saturday, August 2, the legendary trio headlined the third event in the new City Cruises Live series: “1991 Washington Football Champions Cruise with Mark Rypien, Gary Clark, and Chip Lohmiller.”
Guests enjoyed:
Behind-the-scenes stories from the ‘91 season
A multi-course buffet dinner and premium open bar
Meet-and-greet moments and guaranteed signed footballs
Breathtaking views of the D.C. skyline aboard the Odyssey
The football players relived their Super Bowl days on a packed cruise Saturday with Washington football fans for a night of nostalgia. The champs told stories from their big season and their time on the team, as well as what it was like winning the Super Bowl itself, and answered fan questions.
If you’re a big football fan and “missed the boat,” you still have two more chances to relive the glory days.
City Cruises will be hosting two more cruises with the three champs on Oct. 25 and Dec. 20 for those who missed this first one – those interested can head to www.cityexperiences.com/city-cruises/live/.
