GREEN BAY (WLUK) — A knee injury that kept Nate Hobbs out of the Family Night practice could also keep him out for the rest of the preseason, according to a report.
Citing an anonymous source, Sports Illustrated reports the Green Bay Packers cornerback had a minor procedure done on his knee.
He could return in about three weeks, the report says.
The Packers play the first of three preseason games Saturday night. Green Bay opens the regular season four weeks from Sunday, on Sept. 7.
Hobbs signed a four-year, $48 million free agent contract with the Packers in March. He played his first four seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Meanwhile on Monday, the Packers announced they signed cornerback Corey Ballentine and released cornerback Gregory Junior. Ballentine was on the team’s active roster for the previous three seasons.
