The Buffalo Bills know full well how good Julian Edelman was on the New England Patriots even if his true work was done when the lights were brightest.
Despite never making a Pro Bowl, the Patriots’ slot receiver recorded three 1,000-yard seasons over his nine-year career. His best work, though, came in the postseason. Edelman won Super Bowl MVP for his work in the Patriots’ 13-3 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

He led all playoff performers in receptions and yards four separate times throughout his career.
Now, he will be immortalized forever with New England. The Patriots announced that they were going to enshrine Edelman in the team Hall-of-Fame this season.
“Julian Edelman is one of the great success stories in our franchise’s history,” Patriots owner Robert Kraft said in a statement. “There aren’t many players who earn an NFL roster spot at a position they have never played before.”
It may not mean much for the Bills, but Edelman’s NFL story is one for the record books as well. Drafted in the seventh round out of Kent State in 2009, Edelman was originally a quarterback before making the transition to receiver.

Ever since that shift, he made life miserable for the Bills.
Edelman recorded 69 catches for 674 yards and scored six touchdowns in 16 games versus the Bills in his career. He was one of the more consistent players in the league despite battling multiple injuries during the regular season.
Buffalo can be thrilled that they won’t have to deal with Edelman or an elite Patriots squad moving forward. Even so, Edelman’s enshrinement will be a reminder of just how dominant New England was during that time.
