Britain Covey is taking his talents to the Los Angeles Rams, and if you are like me then you had not heard of Covey until this signing, but my friend who is a Philadelphia Eagles fan informed me of this news just a bit ago. Covey was named a Pro Bowl alternate in 2024, so it’s fair to say that Covey had some real highs during his time with the Eagles.

We’ve signed WR Britain Covey to a 1-year deal. ⤵️

Covey went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Birds. Britain ended up with Philly for the ‘22, ‘23 and ‘24 seasons, and though he was hurt for most of the Eagles’ Super Bowl run, he still earned himself a ring and now brings that championship pedigree to Sean McVay and L.A.

Covey led the NFL in punt return yards in 2023, and has amassed 771 yards on punts returns and 236 yards on kickoff returns. He also has notched 11 receptions for 76 yards.

Britain Covey shouldn’t have ever been considered to not make the roster, he is the leagues best punt returner and I will stand by that till I die pic.twitter.com/pGj817DGyK

Seemingly the Rams are adding him as a return man, but because of his experience and because McVay is considered such a brilliant head coach, Covey’s usage with the team could be worth monitoring, and he could be a bigger factor with the Rams than he was in his first few seasons with the Eagles.

Of course, the Rams appear to have a crowded wide receiver room, so who makes the final cuts is still to be determined.
