CHARLOTTE, NC (WJBF)- In the NFL, the Carolina Panthers beginning their pre-season against the Cleveland Browns this week.
The Panthers are now in their third week of training camp. Starting Wednesday, they’ll have a joint practice with the Cleveland Browns, which will give the Panthers an opportunity to compete against someone other than themselves. It’s something the players and head coach Dave Canales are looking forward to.

“It’s fun, because it gets you ready for Sundays. They’re coming in here, and that’s the closest thing you can get to a real game, in this time period so it’s going to be fun,” said cornerback Mike Jackson.
“Just to get that good, clean work and not make it not such a personal attack on each other. I think these practices kind of have that ability to get out of hand like that, it’s just ego vs. ego,” said center Austin Corbett.
“For me, I think it’s about evaluating our group coming out of this, treating anything that comes up and just getting those guys get right back to work, finding our work ethic after those breaks,” Canales said.
Their pre-season game begins Friday, 7 p.m. right here on newschannel6. Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders will make the start.
