The Chicago Bears won’t face the Minnesota Vikings for another month, but they’re already catching a huge break with news of a suspension to a Vikings star wide receiver.
Jordan Addison has been suspended for the first three games of the 2025 NFL season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Addison will miss some pivotal matchups, including a divisional showdown against Chicago.

This is a huge break for Chicago. That’s one less offensive weapon that Minnesota has at their disposal. They still have plenty of talent on offense, most notably Justin Jefferson, but this is a big hit to their group. If Jefferson isn’t 100 percent healthy either, the Bears may really be catching a break on defense.
Last season, Addison had 225 yards and one touchdown against Chicago in two games. To say he made an impact in two wins would be an understatement.
Although this is a slight break for the Bears, they still can’t take the Vikings lightly. If JJ McCarthy plays halfway decent as a first-year starter, they will be hard to beat because they have that aforementioned elite roster. You know head coach Ben Johnson will have his guys prepared no matter what the story is on the other side.
