The Washington Commanders unofficially kick off the 2025 season on Friday, when they face the New England Patriots in the preseason opener for both teams. However, before Friday’s game, the Patriots will host a joint practice with the Commanders on Wednesday.

Wednesday is the first time fans will get a look at the Commanders’ rookie class against another team. One of those rookies is fourth-round pick Jaylin Lane, a wide receiver from Virginia Tech. Lane has enjoyed an outstanding training camp as he looks to make his impact felt as a rookie. This week, Lane received a special gift from the GOAT, Tom Brady, ahead of his rookie season.
