The Cleveland Browns announced that they have waived veteran wide receiver Michael Woods II from the injured reserve list.

This news comes after the Browns placed him on injured reserve following a hand injury, among other roster moves. It was also reported that Cleveland will reach an injury settlement, with a plan to bring Woods II back onto the Browns’ practice squad for 2025, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland dot com.

Cleveland’s front office has been very patient with Michael Woods II ever since they drafted him in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former sixth-round pick has not recorded a regular-season reception since his rookie year, but the team has been pleased with his career progression throughout various preseason training camps. Multiple injuries have also forced Woods II to remain on the injured reserve list for much of his three-year NFL career.

Entering his fourth season, Michael Woods II’s most memorable on-field highlight came in the Browns’ final 2024 preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, when the lengthy receiver reeled in his second touchdown of the game with eight seconds left in the fourth quarter.

His small flashes of potential have been enough for the Browns’ front office to hope that he can develop into a playmaking wide receiver for the franchise.
