The Seattle Seahawks have moved on from a number of notable greats in recent offseasons. Last summer, general manager John Schneider made the decision to release safety Quandre Diggs. This offseason, it was franchise legend Tyler Lockett who became the latest cap casualty.

Diggs signed a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans last offseason. The veteran safety started eight games before suffering a season-ending Lisfranc foot injury. This year, Lockett also signed a deal with the Titans. It seemed like Diggs and Lockett just missed out on being teammates again, but the Titans reunited them on Tuesday by re-signing Diggs!

Diggs and Lockett were teammates in Seattle for four seasons (2019-23). They were part of a strong core of leadership within those locker rooms. In their four combined campaigns together, the Seahawks compiled a record of 39-27 and qualified for the postseason three times, winning one division title.

Lockett projects as the starting slot receiver in a Titans offense that has rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward at quarterback. Diggs and Ward are actually cousins, which is probably why Tennessee topped his destination wish-list. Diggs’ path to playing time is a little more complicated, with the Titans having Amani Hooker, Xavier Woods, and rookie Kevin Winston Jr. at safety.

Either way, we’re thrilled to see Lockett and Diggs reunited in Nashville! The Seahawks are scheduled to play the Titans in Nashville in Week 12.
