The New England Patriots finally get to test their mettle against another opponent — and a very good one at that.

The Patriots are hosting the Washington Commanders for a joint practice Wednesday morning on the fields outside Gillette Stadium as they prepare for Friday’s preseason opener. Led by talented young quarterback Jayden Daniels and fresh off a trip to the NFC Championship Game, the Commanders should present a stiff challenge for a retooled Patriots team.
