LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce appears to have traded in the Silver & Black for Kansas City red and gold.
Pierce was spotted at the division rival Chiefs’ training camp on Wednesday morning.
Video captured by FOX4 News’ Harold Kuntz showed him wearing a Chiefs hoodie and shorts as he walked with Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
It’s unclear what brought Pierce to the Chiefs’ training camp, though he has a connection to the coaching staff.
Spagnuolo was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 2007 and 2008, when Pierce was a linebacker on the team. Their time together included the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots.
Initially hired as a linebackers coach for the Raiders, Pierce stepped into the role of interim head coach in 2023 following the firing of Josh McDaniels and went 5-4 to close out the year.
He was hired permanently last offseason, but the team fired him a year later after going 4-13 for the 2024 season.
Las Vegas has since hired Pete Carroll to take over as head coach.
The Raiders and Chiefs have a bitter rivalry dating back to their days in the now-defunct American Football League. Kansas City leads the overall series 75-55-2.
Carroll and the Raiders play their first preseason game at Seattle on Thursday, while Kansas City is scheduled to travel to Arizona to play the Cardinals on Saturday.
