We appear to have an explanation for why former Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice after leaving a club in Glendale, Colorado, last season.
Reynolds, who was on Denver’s injured reserve list with a finger injury last October, left the club in a vehicle with two other men on Oct. 18, 2024. They were followed by multiple vehicles and then shot at with Reynolds getting hit in his arm and the back of his head (there have been multiple arrests in connection to the shooting).

Reynolds and his two friends said they did not have any incidents while in the club, so it was strange that they were targeted. Police believe it was a case of mistaken identity.
After someone bought $250,000 worth of cocaine with fake money, a drug dealer sought revenge and sent shooters after the buyers, according to court documents obtained by 9News this week.
“Investigators and prosecutors do not believe that Reynolds and his companions had anything to do with the drug deal and were not who the attackers thought they were,” Kevin Vaughan of 9News reported Tuesday.
Reynolds only suffered minor wounds from the shooting and he was back at Broncos practice days later. He was released from IR after recovering from his finger injury and finished the 2025 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Reynolds, who had 12 receptions for 183 yards and one touchdown in five games in Denver last fall, landed with the New York Jets this spring after being cut by Jacksonville.
