ESPN and the National Football League have announced new licensing agreements that extend ESPN’s NFL Draft rights, including the continuation of its live broadcast on ESPN Radio, along with adding NFL programming and content to ESPN’s upcoming direct-to-consumer service as well as to Disney+.

The multiyear deal builds on ESPN’s 46-year history of airing the NFL Draft, beginning a year after the channel’s debut in 1979. Effective with 2026’s draft, Disney+ and Hulu will also stream ESPN, ABC, and ESPN Deportes’ draft presentations, with all draft-related content available on ESPN’s DTC service, according to a release.

These platforms will also carry additional NFL Draft presentations, plus a new daily show focused on the draft to launch on ESPN2 the day after the Super Bowl and run until the draft. In addition to ESPN Radio’s continued live broadcast of the draft, ESPN and ABC will each produce telecasts for Rounds 1-3 on Thursday and Friday, as ESPN has done since 2019, with ESPN continuing to air Rounds 4-7 with ABC simulcasting its coverage. ESPN may add other alternate telecasts across streaming platforms for Rounds 1-7, while football shows “College GameDay” and “NFL Live” will continue to be on-site from the draft.

Per the deal, ESPN’s DTC service will include rights for additional NFL content for ESPN, including streaming of select out-of-market NFL preseason games during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. ESPN will also be able to sell and bundle the NFL’s DTC service, NFL+ Premium, with ESPN’s, allowing fans to watch NFL Network and NFL RedZone through NFL+ Premium.

Other rights and features ESPN will offer include highlights for ESPN’s new personalized “SportsCenter For You” and its fantasy football platform, giving consumers the ability to use the new ESPN App multiview feature while watching NFL games and shows such as “Monday Night Football” and “MNF with Peyton and Eli” on the app simultaneously. Fans will also be able to view legalized sports betting information and bet tracking, as well as integrated games stats, on their CTV or mobile device.

ESPN DTC subscribers will be able to access a video-on-demand “Monday Night Football” recap, while Disney+ subscribers will have access to select NFL simulcasts, and incremental highlight rights within shows like “Vibe Check” and “SportsCenter+.”
