Keys to the game for Saints
Running back room
Alvin Kamara won’t play on Sunday. That being said, the rushing attack is still an aspect of the offense to watch for Kellen Moore’s team. Kendre Miller is slated as the backup right now, but he’s got to stay healthy and reliable. Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Cam Akers are experienced players competing for a depth role. UDFA Marcus Yarns could see some snaps, too.

QB competition
Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, and Jake Haener are all locked into this competition. The first two options seem like the more likely starting options, but all three remain in the quarterback battle for New Orleans. It will bee intriguing to see how the snaps are divided up between the three. All of them have had highs and lows throughout training camp.
Defensive scheme shift
The Saints will play a different style of defense under new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley. This will be the first chance for fans to see how the Saints look on a snap-by-snap basis. The defensive line will be set up in a new way, compared to the previous regime’s unit. Interested to see how it all works out for Staley.
