With Joe Flacco being held out of the team’s first exhibition game and Kenny Pickett dealing with an injury, Shedeur has been presented an incredible opportunity to firmly establish himself as Cleveland’s QB2.
Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett has been one of the players seen chatting up Sanders the most throughout training camp. And speaking to reporters about the rookie fifth-round pick, he had a lot of positive things to say.
“I mean, he’s funny, he’s optimistic, lighthearted, but he works hard,” Garrett told the media, (via NBC’s ProFootballTalk). “He takes it seriously, his craft and he’s watching what the others are doing and doing it his own way, in which only he can. So, looking forward to see him on these preseason games and how he manages the offense. But I think he looks good, but all the guys look good right now.”

“[H]e’s definitely coming to me a couple times to see what I’m thinking [when] I’m going through my rush or what the defense’s mentality is,” he added.
Sanders hasn’t gotten too many reps with the ones this offseason but has put up some impressive numbers against the Browns backups and will get his shot to prove himself against better competition later this week.
Flacco himself is also eager to see what the former Colorado star can do in his first taste of NFL action. Saying, “it’s something that he’ll remember forever.”

“Oh, it’ll be interesting,” Flacco said. “I think we’ll all be sitting there watching and be excited for football to be going real time. And I think he’s probably excited about that, too. Your first time to go in the NFL. I remember mine. I mean, I didn’t get to play until the last two minutes of the game, but it’s something that he’ll remember forever.”
“Most of us have dreamt about this moment since we were 5, 6, 7, 8 years old,” the veteran continued. “So for him to get a chance to go out there and take the field, even though it’s preseason, we’re all going to be on the sidelines and at home enjoying it.”
