For the last four months, the NFL world has been trying to figure out whether Aaron Rodgers will play football again.
After his appearance at the 2025 Kentucky Derby, there’s a new question for everyone to try to figure out.
Is Aaron Rodgers married?
Rodgers has been going to the Kentucky Derby and all its associated A-list celebrity events galas for years with his crew, many of whom are former Green Bay Packers players.
Rodgers and Co. walk the red carpet at these events and like the other celebrities their fashion choices are reviewed. That includes the ring that he was wearing over the weekend.
Where was the ring? On his ring finger on his left hand, where wedding bands for men are traditionally worn.
The internet sure noticed, as did the folks on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“Looked happy,” Pat McAfee said May 5 of Rodgers. “It looked like he had a ring on his ring finger. It looked like it was a wedding ring. Or maybe he got engaged, too. Maybe somebody got engaged to him. Maybe they flipped the script and says, ‘Who says it has to be one way to the other?’
“Maybe somebody got engaged to him and said, ‘Aaron, will you take this ring and be with me forever?’ and Aaron said, ‘Yes, I will,’ and they’ll ‘I do’ it later.”
While McAfee was just spit balling, here’s what we do know about Rodgers and his relationship.

Rodgers was sporting a ring on his left ring finger when he made his appearance on red carpets at the Kentucky Derby. The ring was relatively simple in nature but it’s not clear if it was an actual wedding band. The fashion accessory, nonetheless, generated a lot of buzz on social media with many entertainment sites wondering if he got married.
Did Aaron Rodgers get married?
It’s unknown if Rodgers is married and even his closest friends don’t know despite being around him all weekend and seeing the ring.
AJ Hawk, a former Packers linebacker and good friend of Rodgers, said from what he knew the weekend in Louisville “was not a wedding party.”
“But all of us were a bit surprised,” Hawk said when he saw the ring. “To tell you the truth, I don’t know. I don’t know if I have any answers for you when it comes to that situation.
“He’s very private and mysterious when it comes to things like that and this is definitely one of those, for sure.”
Regardless if Rodgers is married or not, Hawk said his longtime friend seems “very happy.”
“He’s doing very well,” Hawk said. “He looks good physically and mentally.”
But Hawk couldn’t provide the answer that everyone wants to know.
“Not a lot of clarity on this situation,” Hawk said, laughing. “I’m not going to lie.”
Rodgers, of course, could just be teasing everyone with the placement of this ring while keeping his closest friends in the dark.
And it could just be a distraction to get the internet talking about something other than his football future. Rodgers is good at that.

The video that sparked the speculation was shot by the Courier Journal when Rodgers was gathering for a photo on the red carpet with his group at the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala at Patricia Barnstable-Brown’s hilltop Louisville mansion.

Who could be the lucky lady if Aaron Rodgers is indeed married?
The last we heard is that Rodgers has a girlfriend named Brittani?
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback hasn’t said much about Brittani but he has discussed her briefly a couple times on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
He revealed the relationship bombshell back in December while appearing on McAfee’s show. Rodgers was talking about buying Christmas presents and name-dropped her.
“I was a little worried ’cause there was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn’t shown up yet,” Rodgers said. “I was waiting on it to show up. And it showed up today.”
Before that comment, he had never brought up that he had a new girlfriend. Rodgers and Brittani haven’t been seen in public and the four-time NFL MVP noted that she doesn’t have social media.
But he added that having a girlfriend is “a good feeling.”
And while discussing his uncertain football future on McAfee’s show last month, the 41-year-old Rodgers noted he’s “in a serious relationship.”

Rodgers is a Kentucky Derby regular and he never comes alone.
He’s been bringing a group that includes former Packers stars and his good friends for years. This year’s squad included David Bakhtiari, Davante Adams, Randall Cobb, AJ Hawk, Jimmy Graham and Corey Linsley, among others. They were all on the red carpets together.
Rodgers’ girlfriends have joined him, too, in the past.
In 2021, actress Shailene Woodley, his fiancée at the time, joined the group. The couple split up by February 2022. Woodley said in an interview with Outside magazine last year that talking about her relationship with Rodgers makes her cry.
“It was not right,” Woodley said, “but it was beautiful.”

While Rodgers’ marital status remains a mystery, so does his NFL future.
Rodgers is a free agent after being released by the New York Jets in March. Rodgers said he has had discussions with multiple teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings. But the Giants and Vikings are going in other directions, leaving the Steelers as the only team left for Rodgers.
Rodgers said during his most recent appearance on McAfee’s show April 17 that “the lines of communication are open” with the Steelers and “the people that need to know know what’s going on.”
The Steelers parted ways with their top two QBs from last season, which appeared to clear the way for a Rodgers signing if the future Hall of Famer wanted to play another year.
But it hasn’t happened yet.
Steelers president Art Rooney II offered an incremental update on his team’s pursuit of the future Hall of Fame quarterback on Tuesday at the Annual League Meeting, inching closer to the free agent Rodgers potentially joining the team.
Steelers owner and team president Art Rooney II said in early April via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor that Rodgers is heading in “our direction.”
“All signs are positive so far,” he said.
But it hasn’t happened yet.
Rodgers said he told teams up front during free agent discussions that because people in his inner circle are “battling difficult stuff” his focus is on that and he’s not ready to make a commitment to a football team.

Rodgers and his group weren’t the only Packers connections at the derby. Former Packers safety Jonathan Owens, who now plays for the Chicago Bears, and his wife, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, were among the best dressed throughout the weekend.
Biles even had the honor of giving the “Riders Up” call before the start of the race on May 3.
