The Broncos’ unofficial depth chart released Wednesday is hardly written in stone.

Denver travels to face the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday to open the preseason, and per NFL rules, the team is required to publish a depth chart. But the player order is subject to change ahead of Week 1 at home on Sept. 7 against the Tennessee Titans.

Case in point: Bo Nix was listed as the third-string quarterback on last year’s unofficial depth chart to begin the preseason. He was later named the starter for Week 1.

The 2025 version takes a similar approach with high-profile rookies expected to immediately contribute at the back of the line.

Jahdae Barron, drafted No. 20 overall, is listed as the third-string nickel back despite active competition with Ja’Quan McMillian for the starting job.

RJ Harvey, drafted No. 60 overall, is listed as the fifth-string running back despite practicing with the first- and second-team offense in training camp.

There were few surprises beyond the predictable rookie snubs. Wide receiver Marvin Mims is listed ahead of Troy Franklin for the second starting wide receiver spot opposite Courtland Sutton. Running back Jaleel McLaughlin is listed as the second-string running back ahead of Audric Estime.

Below is the team’s complete unofficial depth chart headed into the preseason.
