There are many top-tier matchups during Week 1 of the NFL’s regular season. Among those is a classic NFC North battle between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
Both teams reached the playoffs, but bowed out of the title chase after just one game. The Lions enjoyed an NFC North crown at 15-2 behind a high-powered offense. However, with the departure of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, those shoes will be difficult to fill.
The Packers were stout throughout the 2024 season; however, lost both NFC-North matchups against the Lions en route to an 11-6 record. The team did bring in more firepower on the offensive side of the ball in drafting wide receivers Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.
Both teams are sure to be in contention for the NFC North once again in 2025, and likely have higher goals than just reaching the playoffs.
