Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan met with the media on Thursday before taking to the field for the joint practice session with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and outlined what to expect from the day.

The Titans and the Bucs will follow an outline for the day that features both scripted and unscripted periods, with a focus on critical downs, two-minute drills, and some full special teams reps in what should be an informative and valuable day of work between the two teams. This will include a mock scrimmage at the end of the practice.

One of the aspects of the practice that Callahan touched on was his role and how he will be moving from field to field throughout the day, allowing his coordinators to control their respective units. While he does intend to call some plays during the two-minute drill, Nick Holz will be running the offense.

Callahan discussed using pressure early in the Titans’ training camp as a way to prepare Cam Ward for the season, and will look at how he executes the offense while facing the exotic defensive schemes the Bucs employ.

With no game plan in place, Ward’s execution of the system will be the biggest takeaway that they can build on.

Callahan finished the session by talking about the injury situation. Both Lloyd Cushenberry and L’Jarius Sneed will be there working on the side as they continue to work their way back from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Blake Hance, Cedric Watkins, T’Vondre Sweat, and Kevin Winston Jr. will not practice, with Winston being more of a precautionary measure as he returns from his ACL injury.

Quandre Diggs will be present and practicing, although he will be limited as they work him back into the fold. Look for him to take on a larger role in Atlanta next week.
