The Seahawks’ starters aren’t expected to play in Week 1 of the preseason, meaning rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe should play extensively.

Seahawks fans should be over-the-moon excited to see Milroe in action. The third-round quarterback has been occasionally electric at practice. Milroe’s dual-threat abilities have led to some big-time plays at training camp.

One of those explosive plays occurred at a recent practice session. Milroe connected with fellow rookie wide receiver Ricky White III. The Seahawks’ social media team recently shared this clip of the sideline connection between Milroe and White III.

White III is attempting to make the Seahawks’ 53-man roster. The rookie wideout has been competing for a back-end role at receiver while also establishing himself on special teams. Catching passes from Milroe like the one seen above helps increase his chances of surviving cut-down day.

The Seahawks are quietly hoping Milroe can develop into a long-term solution at quarterback. Starter Sam Darnold is on a short-term contract by quarterback standards. Seahawks fans will be watching Milroe closely during Thursday evening’s preseason opener.
