The Nevada football team will open its season Aug. 30 at Penn State at Beaver Stadium. We are counting down the Wolf Pack’s 25 most important players of the 2025 season. Today’s player: No. 17 Nahji Logan.
Nahji Logan
Position: Linebacker
Class: Senior
Height/weight: 6-3/228
Hometown: Horsham, Pa.
Experience: Five seasons (four at UMass; one at Indiana)
Career FBS stats: 43 games (18 starts), 128 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three passes defended, one fumble recovery
Why he’s on the list: Nevada has an open competition at inside linebacker with Logan, Stone Combs, Austin Harnetiaux, Nakian Jackson and EJ Smith battling for two starting spots. Combs and Harnetiaux are returning players while Logan (Indiana), Jackson (Sac State) and Smith (Cerritos College) are transfers. Logan has the most experience of anybody in this group with 43 games played in the FBS, including 18 starts, all coming during his four seasons at UMass where he was a part-time starter in 2022 and 2023. Logan transferred last season to Indiana, a College Football Playoff team, and played in four games before redshirting to preserve an extra year of eligibility that he’ll use at Nevada in 2025. A native of Pennsylvania, Logan was a two-star prospect out of high school who had a handful of Group of 5 scholarship offers. His breakout season was 2023 when he had a career-high 60 tackles, including four for loss. Logan isn’t guaranteed major playing time this season but will certainly be in the mix for a starting job after a solid spring camp as Nevada looks to replace middle backer stalwarts Drue Watts (transferred to Memphis) and Tongiaki Mateialona (graduation).
