The New York Jets will begin their preseason against the Green Bay Packers in Saturday’s Week 1 exhibition showdown. With joint practices with the New York Giants scheduled for next week, Saturday represents the Jets’ first opportunity of training camp to compete versus another team. It’ll be a terrific measuring stick for Aaron Glenn’s squad.

We’ve identified some Jets players on offense worth monitoring versus the Packers this weekend.

QB Justin Fields

Starting quarterback Justin Fields has struggled in recent practices. The dual-threat scrambler recently confirmed he’d love to play in all three preseason contests. How many snaps Fields will take versus the Packers remains a mystery, but he certainly needs the challenge.

RB Isaiah Davis

Isaiah Davis has made some eye-popping plays at recent training camp sessions. The former South Dakota State standout has some untapped juice and explosiveness. Expect Davis to play a lot on Saturday, with Breece Hall and Braelon Allen probably getting little-to-no work.

WR Malachi Corley

Sophomore wide receiver Malachi Corley struggled as a rookie. The 2024 third-round pick is arguably on the roster bubble. Corley hasn’t earned the benefit of the doubt, and should play extensively against the Packers on Saturday.

WR Arian Smith

The Jets have been impressed with the progress displayed by rookie wideout Arian Smith at practice. Now it’s time to carry that momentum over to a live-action game. Smith appears ahead of expectations from a route-running perspective, and drops haven’t been a recurring issue like they were at Georgia.

C Josh Myers

Coach Glenn continues to claim that Joe Tippmann is in a position battle at center with free-agent signing Josh Myers. It’s difficult to imagine Tippmann actually losing this competition. The Jets seem to like Myers, so Saturday offers the veteran center an opportunity to impress the fan base.
