Jacksonville Jaguars’ running back Bhayshul Tuten has been putting together some strong showings at recent training camp practices.
John Shipley of Jaguars on SI would write in his recent training camp takeaways article that Tuten had a “slow start” due to a hamstring injury, but the rookie back has been “stacking together some solid days.”

Tuten brings home run ability to the Jaguars‘ backfield with his 4.32 speed. Last season at Virginia Tech, Tuten ranked 16th among all backs in missed tackles forced. He was also 13th in average yards after contact and 10th in rushes of 15-plus yards, according to PFF.
“Tuten’s burst and ability to get downhill and find a crease has stood out consistently and, when in pads, he has broken his fair share of tackles,” wrote Shipley.
From the sounds of it, Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne have been taking the bulk of the snaps with the first team offense, but a report from ESPN’s Dan Graziano mentioned that all four Jaguars’ backs, including LeQuint Allen, will be a factor this season.
Like any rookie, Tuten has had to navigate the learning curve that comes with making the jump to the NFL level. In Liam Coen’s offense, there is a robust playbook to learn, not to mention that getting acclimated to the passing game, specifically pass protection, can come with its ups and downs, as running backs coach Chad Morton explained earlier this offseason.

But as Tuten gains more reps and experience in the offense, it sounds like his impact is growing.
