Dan Campbell met the media after Morice Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance during a preseason game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Friday and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation after his head appeared to collide with Falcons running back Nathan Carter on the first play of the game’s fourth quarter.

Norris, who had to be stretchered into the ambulance, is in stable condition and has movement in all of his extremities, the Lions announced late Friday evening.

The game was suspended shortly after Norris was taken off the field, with Lions coach Dan Campbell and Falcons coach Raheem Morris agreeing to not participate any further. Members of both teams held hands and prayed on the field.

Lions players and members of the NFL world reacted to Norris’ injury on social media, offering prayers and support. Here’s a running list of their messages, beginning with an encouraging post from cornerback Terrion Arnold, who is Norris’ close friend:

Morice Norris is in stable condition and has feeling and movement in all his extremities. He will remain at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation.
