Of the Cincinnati Bengals rookies this preseason, fourth-rounder Barrett Carter isn’t getting the most attention. 

Naturally, Carter responded by stealing some attention. 

During his team’s preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, Carter shot through the line of scrimmage and secured his first NFL sack.

The highlight play is a nice little embodiment of what the Bengals are likely hoping for from Carter as a rookie when he takes the field in subpackages. 

While he’s not going to get the same hype as fellow rookies Shemar Stewart, Demetirus Knight, Dylan Fairchild or even sixth-round running back Tahj Brooks, Carter has plenty of versatility and something of value to add in that spot previously held by Akeem Davis-Gaither.
