The Who Dat Nation is more than excited to finally see the Saints play in an actual game. They put in *** lot of hard work through 13 practices, 11 in the heat and metay, and 2 in Orange County where it was not hot. I can tell you by example that it’s not hot out here. We’re at Newport Beach where everyone is enjoying the great weather and the beach, and look, yes, the fans are very excited and so are the players that finally play in this game and definitely Kellen Moore is going to coach in his first game as the Saints’ head coach. It’ll be really good for our entire football team just to go through the process by no means it’s going to be perfect. That’s the beauty of preseason football, I think for our players. It’ll be awesome to get out there and kind of play someone else we’ve been playing each other for *** number of weeks, but also for the coaches to go through this process and get back into the real thing. The real thing is less than *** month away, and I’m sure between now and the opener against the Cardinals, the discussion about the starting quarterback will continue, but it’s about this game with the Chargers, which will give more, even more time to think about his starting QB for the opener. Yeah, it’ll be another piece of the puzzle as we go through this. Obviously they’re important pieces. They’re. Games and there’s tackling and you know sacks and all the things that you got to deal with when *** game is full go and so it’ll be *** great evaluation piece for us by no means is it any bigger than the collection of all these practices that occurred. Also *** big reoccurring topic for preseason games playing starters. Each coach has *** different philosophy on how to handle that situation, including the first time head coach. Any time we need to go through an evaluation process, I think it’s important to go through that process in preseason, so. There’s certain players that we need to go through *** process and evaluate them, and they’re competing for different roles. There’s other guys that, uh, we may be doing *** quick, uh, you know, stop in the game, 8, 12 plays, and then they’ll probably transition out of that thing and it may be just their opportunity to kind of get acclimated. Kellen Moore said about *** half dozen players on each side of the ball won’t play in the game. He also said he is going to call the players on offense while Brandon Staley will call the plays on defense at Newport Beach, Sharif Ishak, WDSU News.
