PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – Badger fans had their first taste of football season on Saturday evening.
People had the chance to watch the Badger football team practice at UW-Platteville’s Pioneer Stadium.
Tickets to the open practice were just $5 per person, and kids 12 and younger had free admission.
One 9-year-old from Platteville, Ben Kelly, said he was excited to see the Badgers practice in his hometown.
“It’s cool to have them in Platteville,” Kelly said. “So we came to cheer on the Badgers and get autographs.”
Another family made the trip from Dubuque, Iowa to watch the practice.
“We’re big Badger fans,” Chad Gunnelson said. “Hoping to see them get back into a bowl game.”
The first Wisconsin football game of the season will be at Camp Randall Stadium on Aug. 28 against Miami of Ohio.
