LIVE WITH THE LATEST. PETE. FOR 13 SEASONS, JUSTIN TUCKER WAS FRANKLY THE BEST KICKER IN THE NFL. HE LEAVES THE RAVENS AS THE MOST ACCURATE KICKER TO DO IT, AND HE’S BEEN INCREDIBLY CLUTCH AS WELL. AND OF COURSE HAD THAT 66 YARDER, THE LONGEST IN NFL HISTORY. HOWEVER, THE 16 SEPARATE ALLEGATIONS OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY MASSAGE THERAPISTS DATING BACK TO 2016 THAT HAS LED THE RAVENS INTO THIS POINT TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE A CHANGE. THEY WENT AHEAD AND DRAFTED TYLER LOOP AS THEIR POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT. HE’LL STILL HAVE TO WIN THE JOB, BUT THEY SAW HIM AT ROOKIE MINICAMP THIS WEEKEND. I THINK THEY LIKE WHAT THEY SAW AND THEREFORE THEY’RE GOING TO GO AHEAD AND MAKE THIS DECISION. WE JUST HAVE A STATEMENT RELEASED FROM THE TEAM. WE TAKE A LOOK. AND THIS IS FROM GENERAL MANAGER ERIC DECOSTA. SOMETIMES FOOTBALL DECISIONS ARE INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT. AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE INSTANCES CONSIDERING OUR CURRENT ROSTER, WE HAVE MADE THE TOUGH DECISION TO RELEASE JUSTIN TUCKER. JUSTIN CREATED MANY SIGNIFICANT AND UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS IN RAVENS HISTORY. HIS RELIABILITY, FOCUS, DRIVE, RESILIENCE AND EXTRAORDINARY TALENT MADE HIM ONE OF THE LEAGUE’S BEST KICKERS FOR OVER A DECADE. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR JUSTIN’S MANY CONTRIBUTIONS WHILE PLAYING FOR THE RAVENS. WE SINCERELY WISH HIM AND HIS FAMILY THE VERY BEST IN THIS NEXT CHAPTER OF THEIR LIVES. BUT CERTAINLY YOU WOULD NOT EXPECT AT THIS POINT FOR TUCKER TO BE A GUY THAT’S NOT HE’S NOT GOING TO BE DONE KICKING SOMEONE YOU EXPECT WOULD GO AHEAD AND GIVE HIM AN OPPORTUNITY, BECAUSE TALENT TYPICALLY IN NFL WILL ALWAYS GET A SECOND CHANCE. AND EVEN THOUGH HE DID STRUGGLE LAST YEAR, ONCE HE GOT THINGS CORRECTED, HE DIDN’T MISS A KICK AFTER THE BYE.
