Former Steelers linebacker Devin Bush arrested on assault charge in Allegheny County

A former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker was arrested on an assault charge in Bell Acres, Allegheny County.According to the criminal complaint, Devin Bush allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend at a home on Skymark Lane.Police said Bush tried to take his girlfriend’s phone and then fully pinned her to a massage table, according to the complaint. The woman told police Bush smashed her phone when he got to it.She was able to escape with her daughter to a neighbor’s home and called 911, police said in the complaint. The woman sustained some cuts to her wrist and a toe.Bush, 26, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault and a summary count of harassment, according to the complaint.Bush was released from the county jail on nonmonetary bail. An online docket shows that a preliminary hearing was scheduled for May 20.ESPN reported that the Cleveland Browns are “aware” of the situation. Bush signed a one-year contract with the Browns in March.
